This is the last verse of the Book of Acts. It describes how, amazingly, God’s Word continued to spread freely during the two years that the Apostle Paul was under house arrest in Rome.

We are less than a month away from Christmas. As a child, I remember making requests for certain things; many of which materialised on Christmas morning. Many years have passed since those precious memories of childhood, yet there remains a list of unfulfilled desires of the heart.

In Ezekiel 18:1-4, God was dealing with a mistaken notion that the exile from Judah in Babylon had. They were probably reacting to the messages of Jeremiah and Ezekiel. Hence, there was a slur being spread among them. It was essentially a complaint.

Imagine if you were given the opportunity to ask for anything you wanted. Spend a few moments and honestly think of what you would ask for. Try not to be overly spiritual by stating “scripturally correct” answers. Right now, if you can ask God for anything, how would you answer Him?

As we approach the year-end, it is good to take stock of what has taken place in recent months, including our recent HEAL Singapore and the Breakthrough series of sermons from the pulpit. We have seen many lives touched and healed by the Lord, and we rejoice.

I grew up in in a denominational church which featured a segment of the service where the congregation would move around and shake hands with one another while stating the following words; “The Peace of God be with you”.

The Lord gives us gifts and talents to serve one another and contribute to different ministries in the body of Christ. This is a good stewardship of His grace upon us (1 Pet 4:10). Hence, we should take hold of the many opportunities available to use our God given gifts and talents to serve in the church.

From the wilderness wandering of the children of Israel there are many spiritual lessons to be gleaned. It would not be unreasonable to believe that the people Israel had become accustomed to the wilderness wandering after traveling the same route for a while.

In a previous devotional, we touched on the subject of “What is your Bread”. This subject is worth investigating, seeing that “Bread” is mentioned about 492 times in Scripture. We discovered that “Bread” can be likened to the doing of God’s Will (John 4:34).

Jesus spoke these words after explaining the meaning behind the Parable of the Sower. The same “seed” (identified as God’s Word in v11) produces different results, depending on the condition of the soil and how the seed is received.
