Established in 1978, Lighthouse Evangelism (LE) is a Bible-centred, charismatic, independent church that holds onsite services at its premises in Tampines and Woodlands. When LE celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2018, Pastor Pacer Tan succeeded Pastor Rony Tan as the church’s senior pastor. Ps Pacer received the mandate of God to lead the church to be the light of Christ everywhere, fathering nations for the love of God. The church carries out this mandate by bringing healing and the gospel of Jesus Christ for salvation to many through its miracle services, Sunday services in English and Mandarin, and kingdom works beyond the church walls.

Our Faith
Triune God
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who is the Maker and Preserver of all things visible and invisible (Luke 3:22).
Made in God’s Image
We believe that man was originally created in the image of God, but the whole race of man was separated from God through the sin of Adam and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death.
The Cross
We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides salvation, healing for the body, in addition to the mind, soul and spirit of man; that Christ has an answer for every problem man has, physical or spiritual.
The Resurrection
We believe that everyone will be resurrected (saved and unsaved) and give an account to the Great Judge, whose judgement is final and eternal (Revelation 20:12-13).
Water Baptism
We believe that water baptism by immersion should follow after a new believer receives Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a separate and distinct experience which is evidenced by speaking in other tongues according to Acts 2:4. It is the promise of the Father and is made available to all who desire it, ask for it (Acts 1:4-5).
The Church
We believe that the body of Christ is composed of all born-again believers everywhere without respect to race, colour or denomination. We believe that the local church comprises born-again believers who come together for worship, fellowship, discipleship and evangelism.
Miracles
We believe that miracles and all gifts of the Spirit are available to the church today for the edifying and perfecting of its members.
Divine Healing
We believe that divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. The gifts of the Holy Spirit including gifts of healing are provided for through the work of the cross. Praying for the sick is emphasised in the New Testament, and it is the duty of the church to practise it.
Discipleship
We believe in the training and equipping of all believers (discipleship) in the lead up to Christ’s imminent return (Matthew 4:21, 28:19-20).
Evangelism
We believe that the work of evangelism (sharing and proclaiming the message of salvation) is the responsibility of all believers and that it is only possible by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 2:8).
Pacer Tan→
As a pastor’s son, Pastor Pacer Tan grew up in church. He received the call of God to ministry at the age of 24 to lead the church’s youth ministry. Today, he is an accomplished preacher, worship leader and musician.
Since becoming the Senior Pastor in 2018, he is known for his thought-provoking preaching and apostolic calling. As a visionary, he is leading Lighthouse Evangelism to be a light to our nation and beyond.
His greatest passion is to see a deepening unity among the churches of Singapore and to help propel Christian movements to fulfil God’s mandate for our nation.
He serves as the co-chairman of The Alliance of Pentecostal & Charismatic Churches of Singapore (APCCS), committee member of Love Singapore, board member of Festival of Praise X (FOPX) and board member of Global Leadership Summit Singapore.
Pastor Pacer and Pastor Katherine are parents to Racer and Rainbow.
Desmond Tian→
Pastor Desmond holds a Master of Arts in Theology. He is a key driver and executor of the church’sgrowth strategies and plans. He has served on staff since 2007. As a man of diverse talents, he began his ministry in the creative arts and then moved into the Chinese ministry. As our Chinese lead pastor, he has played an instrumental role in building our Chinese ministry over the past decade. His approachable and down-to-earth personality and leadership approach have blessed many members of our congregation, also known as Lighters. He has a special interest in Holy Land studies and Biblical archaeology.
He and Irene are parents to two, Elijah and Eytan.
John Koh→
Pastor John Koh oversees the worship ministry, church services and all aspects of our church operations. He holds a Degree of Associate of Worship Arts. Known around Singapore churches for worship–leading, he brings at least 30 years of pastoral and worship ministry experience to our church. Since he joined us on staff as the worship pastor 2018, he has been a constant source of stability and steadfastness in our worship ministry. He is well-regarded for his unassuming yet steady leadership. He enjoys making music, hikes, movies and a good cup of coffee.
He and Shereen are parents to Joshua and Emmanuel.
Timothy O’Connell→
Pastor Timothy O’Connell is currently the pastoral head in the Senior Pastor’s Office (SPO) and plays an essential role in Lighthouse Evangelism, planning and developing an extensive training programme for Christian students at the Light College Extension School. Having joined the church in September 2018 as a pastor in the SPO, he over saw the developing of training curriculum for many church functions, as well as the weekly Bible study programme.
Pastor Tim serves as a district pastor that oversees cell groups and prayer ministries. He has served 15 years in the mission field, and in other capacities, such as the principal (2008-2014) and dean of School of Leadership (2006-2014) in Tung Ling Bible School. He is happily married to Joanne.
Jesline Su→
Jesline Su is a transformational leader overseeing human resources and corporate services departments. With over 20 years of experience in strategy human resources, talent management, culture change, and managing large-scale projects, she brings a wealth of expertise to our church senior leadership team. She holds a Master of Human Resources and is a Tung Ling Bible School alumna. Previously, she led regional talent management for a multinational company, achieving great success.
As a strategic partner in our church’s vision to be the light of Christ everywhere, Jesline leverages her extensive experience to support the church’s needs and development of our leaders, foster an inclusive and engaged church culture, and drive positive change. Her philosophy is rooted in Proverbs 16:1-3. She enjoys beach sunrises and sunsets and is happily married to Eddy.
Katherine Han→
Pastor Katherine Han oversees the overall planning for the church. She also provides strategic inputs on critical matters for the advancement of the ministry. As a change agent at heart, she strives to bring transformative leadership to the ministry. She had served in different ministries such as the children’s and youth ministry before moving on to organisational roles. She revamped the children’s ministry, restructured key elements of the church, and played a pivotal role in the formation of the Senior Pastor’s Office. As she juggles multiple roles, she aspires to be a Proverbs 31 woman.

Our Legacy
Lighthouse Evangelism (LE) was founded by Pastor Rony Tan in 1978.
In 1975, Pastor Rony suffered from incessant, intense pain because of severe stomach ulcers, and bled for four days and three nights without sleep. In desperation, he held onto his mother’s hand and prayed for the Lord to take him home or heal him instantly. He vowed to serve the Lord full-time if he was healed. After prayer, Pastor Rony fell into a deep sleep. When he woke up, there was no pain as long as he remained still. The progressive healing continued until he was able to stand upright and resume his regular activities.
Honouring his vow to serve the Lord full-time, Pastor Rony enrolled at the Singapore Bible College and served at Jubilee Presbyterian Church as a pastor trainee in 1976. Two years later in 1978, he was sent to pioneer an outreach in Chip Bee Estate and LE was birthed.
Pastor Rony also founded the miracle service, a healing ministry in LE, that is conducted weekly at both worship centres to pray for the sick and afflicted.
In 1979, while preparing for his first mass healing crusade, God spoke to Pastor Rony in a clear and audible voice, “SON, I WILL USE YOU TO SHAKE THE NATIONS!” Well-known as a healing evangelist, his healing ministry has impacted and led many to Christ. He has also conducted mass healing crusades overseas.
Pastor Rony’s passion is to preach the full gospel, usher souls into God’s kingdom, heal the sick and set the captives free from the clutches of the devil. He has also authored numerous books and recorded several albums featuring his own compositions.
After passing the leadership baton to the next generation, Pastor Rony is now the ministry mentor of our church and continues to minister actively in our weekly miracle service and prayer ministry.
Pastor Rony and Sister Kwee Hong got married in 1976. They have two children and four grandchildren. Their son, Pastor Pacer, is married to Pastor Katherine, and they are the parents of Racer and Rainbow. Their daughter, Tracy, is married to Gareth, and they are the parents of Eden and Ezekiel.

Lighthouse Evangelism was established on 1978, April 16, by Pastor Rony and eight pioneering members. Starting with a service at Chip Bee Centre, the church commissioned by Jubilee Presbyterian Church, grew through door-to-door evangelism.

In1984, Pastor Rony started an outreach at Hotel Grand Central, increasing the number of worshippers to 200 within one and a half years, while he left the work in Chip Bee Centre in the care of Pastor Clarence Goh.

The merging of the two centres in 1985 led to the need for a larger space, leading to a temporary residence at Amara Hotel from 1 June 1986 while searching for a permanent site to build the church.

Finally, Lighthouse Evangelism secured its own church building and held its first Sunday service at Lighthouse Evangelism Tampines in 1992. Additional dialect, Mandarin and Indonesian services, as well as a healing ministry, called miracle service, were introduced. While miracle service started out as a monthly meeting to reach the lost, sick and afflicted, it transitioned to a weekly service as the needs of the people were boundless.

A second centre, Lighthouse Evangelism Woodlands, was built in 2003, as the church continued to grow. Both buildings were built completely debt-free, attesting to the faithfulness of God and the support of our members, also known as Lighters.

In 2018, the church celebrated its 40th anniversary. In the same year, Pastor Pacer Tan succeeded Pastor Rony Tan as the senior pastor of the church. Under the new leadership of Pastor Pacer Tan, we strive to continue to be the light of Christ everywhere!
