Children’s Ministry Executive, Sparklight

The Children’s Ministry Executive supports all service operational requirements and programme initiatives to maximise every child’s Sunday experience of encountering Jesus through meaningful and purposeful engagement with their teachers.

The Children’s Ministry Executive reports directly to the Children’s Ministry Manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Plans, Visions, Goals & Policies:

  • Implement yearly goals and annual ministry calendar of activities together with the support of ministry volunteers.
  • Actively participate in projects and review exercises for the purpose of quality improvement within the Children’s Ministry.
  • Work with Children’s Pastor / Children’s Manager to develop, implement, and enforce Sparklight guidelines, policies, and procedures for an effective ministry.

Royal Rangers:

  • Responsible for age groups under the Royal Rangers Portfolio – Ranger Kids (5-7 years old), Discovery Rangers (8-10 years old), and Adventure Rangers (11-12).
  • Plan Curriculum Calendar for classes under the Royal Rangers portfolio.
  • Work with volunteer teams on manpower allocation.
  • Plan and prepare teaching and craft materials for weekly lessons and Sparklight events.
  • Coordinate and participate in Royal Rangers Singapore-related events.
  • Attend external meetings organised by Royal Rangers Singapore.

Manpower:

  • Ensure adequate volunteer staffing weekly.
  • Recruit ministry volunteers and children.
  • Relationship building with stakeholders such as Ministry volunteers, children and their families.

Operations & Facilities:

  • Responsible for effective Sparklight operations at the church venues every Sunday.
  • Responsible for planning, coordinating and executing key events in Sparklight.
  • Ensure that facility at the church venues are organized, and resources are sufficient for weekend services and special events.
  • Work with Youth Ministry to ensure smooth transitions for graduating children.
  • Responsible for general Sparklight administrative matters.

Other Functions:

  • All attributes and responsibilities of a lay Sunday School volunteer also applies.
  • Participate in any other responsibilities and duties as assigned by the Children’s Pastor / Children’s Manager.
  • Support the church in all her pursuits towards the vision and mission.
  • Leading, serving, or supporting the Church’s ministries and their associated activities in addition to the departmental responsibilities.
  • Attending and participating actively in staff-wide and church-wide activities such as Vision Progress Meeting, Staff retreat, special church service(s), etc.
  • Perform any other general duties when assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma in any discipline with at least 2 to 3 years of working experience.
  • Possess good communication and organizational skills and a passion for children.
  • Able to manage and execute both short-term and long-term projects.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively.
  • Able to work on weekends and be involved in our church services. (5-day work week)
